He was born in Voghera, Italy in 1932 and started his career in Paris where he worked with Christian Dior before launching his own label in Rome in 1960. His first collection was inspired by the Roman countryside with its naturalistic colors of green, brown, and white which he used throughout his career until today along with other traditional elements such as embroidery or lace making them timeless pieces that will never go out of style even though they were first introduced decades ago.
